Abuja, December 5, 2025-  President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Friday received the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr Yu Dunhai at the State House in Abuja, with both leaders agreeing to fast-track cooperation under the China and Nigeria Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

According to a statement from the Chinese Embassy in Abuja Tinubu and Yu commended the progress made in bilateral relations and expressed readiness to deepen engagement across key sectors for the mutual benefit of both countries.

Ambassador Yu said that, through the joint efforts of both sides, China and Nigeria relations had entered a “fast track,” underscoring the high level of mutual trust and support between the two nations on issues of core interest.

He reiterated China’s support for Nigeria’s fight against terrorism and its broader efforts to strengthen national security.

Yu further stated that China was prepared to work closely with Nigeria to accelerate the implementation of the zero-tariff policy for Nigerian exports, enhance the alignment of development strategies, and consolidate strategic mutual trust.

He added that both countries remained committed to elevating bilateral ties through expanded economic cooperation, stronger political dialogue and increased people-to-people exchanges.

Tinubu welcomed the renewed assurances from China, acknowledging the country’s longstanding role in supporting Nigeria’s development aspirations.

He expressed Nigeria’s commitment to further deepening engagement with China, particularly in areas that drive economic transformation, enhance security, and promote shared prosperity.(NAN)
